Joseon Korean bandaji or blanket chest

This beautiful bandaji is from the late-Joseon Dynasty (early 1900’s). Most Korean homes used these for storing bedding and clothing. Inside there are five drawers for storing valuables or other small objects. This example is in excellent condition and is made of walnut wood featuring hand-joinery (mortise and tenon) as well as hand-cut metal decoration.
