Due to lack of space and time, I'm offering my abandoned restoration project for sale:
A rare British classic car, a RILEY 4/72 Comet with red leather interior, designed by Pininfarina.
The Riley 4/72 was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) from 1959 to the late 1960s. The Pininfarina-designed body of the Riley 4/72 is identical to the Austin A/55, the MG Magnette Marl III, the Wolseley 15/60, the Di Tella 1500, and the Riley Comet.
- Imported from the Netherlands, therefore left-hand drive
- 4-cylinder 1,595 cc, 51 kW / 61 hp, VIN: RHS3L18551
- Odometer reading: 4,200 km, however, the speedometer jumps to 100,000 km, so the total mileage can unfortunately no longer be determined, as the number of previous owners is also unknown.
- No MOT, various welding work (see photos for rust perforations) and full inspection with H-certification required
- Various paint damage, scratches, and dents, damaged grille and chrome parts, missing right windshield wiper, cracked rearview mirror - see photos
- Private sale as a DIY vehicle with no liability for material defects
- Engine starts reliably and runs absolutely cleanly and quietly
- Transmission and clutch work well, but the steering and brakes need to be overhauled; tires are outdated
- Renewed red leatherette interior, headliner in good condition, with stains and no unpleasant odors
- Real wood trim with signs of wear - see photos
