Since May 1, 2014, the energy certificate is mandatory if you want to sell or rent a house. In case of a violation of this regulation, fines of up to 15,000 euros may be imposed (until the end of February 2021, the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) applies here, after which the Building Energy Act (GEG) takes effect).
